Calico Scallops
There has been no East Coast of Florida production of Calico’s since 2000. It is highly doubtful that Calico Scallops will be produced on this coast again. There may be some production in the Florida panhandle, but none is foreseen at this time. Some fisherman report some scallops on the old beds, but the infrastructure to process them has been dismantled and the only successful factory vessel has been sold with the scallop equipment removed.
